Umeda 1-chome district

The Umeda 1-chome district begins with Midosuji and is home to a collection of railway stations that form west Japan’s largest terminal. Accompanying the reconstruction of the Hanshin Department Store and Shin-Hankyu building, the city has been improving the area’s public facilities and infrastructure in order to create a prosperous space for all citizens.
The Osaka Umeda Twin Towers South skyscraper born from the reconstruction of the Hanshin Department Store and Shin　Hankyu Building was completed in spring 2022. It is a multi-use complex consisting of 3 floors underground and 38 above and is equipped with zones for department stores, offices, and conference zones, as well as a temporary space to accommodate those unable to return home during times of disaster.
The office zone (floors 11 to 38) is equipped with the latest facilities and offers western Japan’s largest office area* per floor at 3,500 m2. The conference zone with two halls, the large and the small, is located on the 11th floor. By using this conference zone as a place to publicize information about business, cultivate internationally-minded talent, and promote exchanges between a diverse range of individuals, the aim is to strengthen international competitiveness and further increase the vitality of business ventures in the Umeda district.

The Midosuji area

MUFG Bank Osaka Building, completed in March 2018, is expected to create a space where people can feel the sophisticated and lively scene of the city while being in a business district by introducing a café/gallery lounge on the ground floor facing Midosuji street which promotes the creation of cultural activities, a feeling of the hustle-bustle and recreation.

Nakanoshima Western District

Along with being a hub of business for some of Japan’s largest and most recognized corporations, Nakanoshima island is located in the cenral part of Osaka City and enveloped in a rich natural landscape of rivers and trees and houses various historical structures making it a true symbol of Aqua Metropolis Osaka.
Particularly in its western reaches, there are a number of buildings supporting international culture and exchange, such as Osaka International Convention Center, Osaka Science Museum, and The National Museum of Art, Osaka.
The Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka opened in 2022 in the Nakanoshima 4-chome district. This, with the existing Osaka Science Museum and The National Museum of Art, Osaka, will be Osaka’s core museums forming a cultural base and museum zone to attract visitors from all over the world. In the area around the new museum, Osaka also plans to create a center of society-academia co-creation and industry-academia co-creation, as well as an international hub of art and regenerative medicine, to form a base for culture, the arts, and academics.
Also, at Nakanoshima’s 5-chome district where Osaka International Convention Center is located, large portions of unused land are still available and ready for development, offering the potential to develop a new urban site and create the solid base for international exchange which promote international business support activities by making the most use of MICE function.

NAMBA SkyO

The Namba/Minatomachi area

The Namba / Minatomachi district, called "Minami", is a major transportation hub directly connected to Kansai International Airport, and is the largest downtown area in western Japan where a lot of history, culture, and information are gathered. "Namba Parks", which was born on the south side of the Nankai Namba Station terminal as the first development in the Namba area, is a complex greening city with the theme of coexistence with greenery. It consists of a commercial building and an office building, and is now a tourist attraction in Namba.
Taking the advantage of its location directly connected to Kansai International Airport, "Namba Skyo" was established in 2018 as a base of international communication where people, goods and services come from/go to Japan and overseas. The massive center consists of thirty-one stories and two underground stories, has offices with the highest level of earthquake-resisting system and BCP, commercial service facilities, conference halls/rooms and health care facilities and is also expected to promote MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition/Event) in cooperation with hotels and commercial facilities in its neighborhood.
